Turkey is the most traditional part of our christmas dinner. Turkey breast is leaner and lower in calories than chicken breast. It’s rich in b vitamins which are important for brain health and zinc and selenium which help with the immune system.
If you had a chestnut based stuffing instead of sausage meat you will have saved on calories and saturated fats. Chestnuts are full of vitamin c and potassium, protein, fibre and other nutrients.
Brussel sprouts, not everyone’s favourite, but they are a good source of b vitamins, folate, vitamin c and cancer fighting substances. They are a great source of fibre which helps to keep the digestive system healthy. They are low in calories too so you can eat plenty of them!
