The worrying thing about Covid 19 is that you can’t see it, this is why we find ourselves in our current lockdown situation. There are many groups of people who are more susceptible to the virus and these groups are being urged to take extra care. The elderly, worryingly classed as those over 60, but the older you are, certainly the more vulnerable you become if you have underlying health issues.

The younger you are the less chance there is of you dying from this disease, although the symptoms can be very severe.

Coronavirus affects the lungs, hence the bad cough that is one of the main symptoms. This is due to a build up of fluid in the lungs which may result in the need for hospitalisation.

It’s so important to keep all public areas sanitised and and in particular your hands. Avoid shaking hands and touching other things in public places. I’ve seen many people wearing gloves which may be a good idea.

Wash your hands as often as possible to keep the bugs at bay. Do not touch your face with your hands, and don’t read newspapers or magazines in waiting rooms and beware of handling cash, use contactless when possible. If at all possible, have a hand sanitiser with you at all times, easier said than done in these days of panic buying!
