This week we reviewed renowned zoologist Delia Owens’ only novel ‘Where The Crawdads Sing’ – this stunning novel is a celebration of nature, solitude, survival and women, as well as being a sensitive coming-of-age story AND a murder-mystery. We also discussed the winners of the 29th Women’s Prize for Fiction (congratulations, V.V. Ganeshananthan on your novel Brotherless Night) and the winner of the first ever Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction, Naomi Klein, for her amazing book Doppelganger: A Trip into the Mirror World.
We talk about Bloomsday and why Dubliners (and tourists!) are still pottering around Dublin looking for Paddy Dignam’s funeral 120 years later, and we enjoy some Buddy Holly for this week’s Missing Listener – Nicole’s beloved grandad, Ray.
