This week some thoughts on gut health. We’ve all had the odd upset tummy, but when it is constantly rumbling or painful then it’s time to think about how you can do something to bring it back to health again.

A properly functioning gut and digestive system can help with weight loss too, clear skin and helps to keep our moods in check.

Constipation and irritable bowel are two signs that your gut isn’t working as it should be. Constipation can result in bloating, which is a sign of trapped gas. Could be a sign that you have a complex carbohydrate intolerance. Eating foods that help the digestion such as bitter greens before having a protein packed meal willhelp eliminate and prevent undigested food from blocking your system.

If your breath still smells even after brushing your teeth or if your tongue has a white coating you may need to look into gut health management.

Dry skin, blemishes and acne are unfortunate signs that your gut is turning toxic, and a sign of a poor immune system.

80% of the immune system resides in the gut, so it is important to keep it healthy. It’s a good idea to drink 3 litres of water each day to flush out your system. Sounds a lot but the benefits are worth it.  It keeps the bowels hydrated and restores your skin too.

One small dietary change can make a big difference to your overall health.
