Words & Sound S1 E1

Welcome to the new series of Words & Sound, where my very special guest this episode is multi award winning author, Jill Dawson

Jill is the author of 10 novels including Lucky Bunny, The Crime Writer, The Tell-Tale Heart and new Novel The Language of Birds. As well as writing, Jill is also a journalist and editor having edited several short story collections, and a successful educator both in writing and through her mentoring programme; Goldust.

All music in this edition of Words & Sound has been selected by Jill as works that are in some way linked to her new novel The Language of Birds. On her music choices for this episode, Jill said “I always listen to music when writing. For this novel I listened to anything from the period I was writing about – the mid 70s. The Eva Cassidy tune I imagined playing at Mandy’s funeral as I find it both melancholic and uplifting at the same time – my favourite state to be in when writing.”
