A great night out doing our bit to help support businesses in Brentwood

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

We were very glad to be involved with Brentwood Chamber of Commerce’s first Business Awards event which took place at Mount Avenue Banqueting Suite on 9 November.

We came on board very early as official media partner, and our head of Sales and Promotions, Steve Roach, was in contact with the Chamber committee from the beginning to help organise the event.

A number of people came down during the last few months, from organisers to sponsors, all talking about why they support business in Brentwood.

The evening was well attended with nearly 200 people in attendance. Ten awards were given out, all expertly compered by our Friday lunchtime presenter Mike Jones.

We’ve always been very supportive of “think local” shopping initiatives in turn we’ve been grateful for those local businesses who have been able to support us in return – without their help, we wouldn’t be around to promote them to our listeners.

The Chamber of Commerce is planning to hold the event again next year and you can find out more details on their website at www.brentwoodchambers.co.uk.

** Guests coming up on air in the next seven days include Nick Pearmain and Natallia Ushe who will be chatting about the Mr & Mrs All Jokes Aside podcast.

** There will also be live music in the studio from Steve Hewitt, Hollow County, The Jackson Line and Phoenix Moon.
