We all tend to overindulge at Christmas, there are so many lovely temptations that are so difficult to resist at all of the various parties and get-togethers. We try to say to ourselves that a few days of indulgence won’t do any harm. That may not be the case. The average person will consume approximately 2,500 extra calories per day over the christmas period! Which is quite a shocking amount, and could lead to a weight gain of 2 pounds in just a few days!
We can eat as many as three christmas dinners, not in one go, but over the festive season, and each meal will contain about 1500 calories. That’s without all of the additional snacks and cakes. They all contain dangerously high sugar and salt levels too. To avoid this huge excess try to cook as many things from scratch as possible. The prepacked items contain far more sugar and salt.
So before you reach for that fourth mince pie or third slice of christmas cake, think for a moment if you really need it and how it will make you feel afterwards, or in a few days when you get on the scales!!
Enjoy your christmas food, but as always try to eat sensibly. Those pounds go on a lot easier than they come off!!
