We’ve had a long-running association with Saint Francis Hospice, promoting their events and raising funds for them pretty much since we went full time on FM in 2007.
There’s always so much going on there that it’s sometimes hard to keep track, so we make sure we talk to them regularly on air to keep our listeners updated.
We welcomed Anne Brown to Jo Bailey’s Drive show last week. Anne is Head of Major Gifts and Partnerships at the Hospice and has a decade-long association working hard for Saint Francis to bring in the money needed to continue their vital work in the community.
As part of the hospice’s 40th birthday celebrations, they are aiming to raise funds at the 2024 Brentwood Half Marathon and are asking for help from our listeners – they’re hoping to get 100 people to pledge to raise £400 each.
We also heard about the forthcoming Big Heart Lunch which takes place at Stockbrook Manor in Billericay, where you can hear inspirational stories from guest speaker and Channel 5 newsreader Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije.
Anne, like so many of the Hospice’s staff and supporters, is so passionate about the work her and her team do for the hospice; it’s always a joy talking to her.
There are a whole load of other events that you can get involved in, including Santa In The City, bike rides and sky dives.
You can hear all of our interviews with the hospice team at phoenixfm.com and check out more events at www.sfh.org.uk/fundraising-
