Holly and Frances talk of their work with schools at long-running charity

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

One thing that you learn quickly when involved in local radio is the number of people in our community who are out quietly and selflessly helping other people who are making significant life changes or choices.

Holly Coleman and Frances Coe came in to talk about the Brentwood Schools Christian Worker Trust. This charity has been running for 31 years and they work in 28 primary schools, 7 secondary schools and 2 specialist schools in the Brentwood area.

The charity delivers assemblies, teach lessons, run clubs, and provide pupil support, recently working with over 900 Year 6 pupils across 25 schools who will be transferring to Secondary schools this year with the “It’s your move” project.

Holly and Frances came in to talk to Patrick Sherring about the charity and the work they do. You can hear the interview again at phoenixfm.com, or visit the organisation’s website at bscwt.org.

* We’ve got lots more great guests in the coming week. Local four-piece indie rock band Mint will be performing live in the studio on Wednesday’s Drive show with Jo Bailey, and Patrick Sherring will be talking to Tony Stringer about his work with Kenyan charity Friends of Namuncha on Friday.
