You may have caught us playing CDG by JoSi recently on Rising Stars – and we caught up with him to find out more about his music.
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name is Josiah but I go by JoSi in the music industry. I’m a musician from the United States.
When did you first start to develop a passion for music?
I developed a passion of music after I saw how a musician said it was a fun thing, so I started writing music and it went well. That was in 2017.
Which artists did you listen to growing up?
I listened to Lil Wayne and Kanye West.
How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?
I would say my music to new people is a mixture of trying to tell people to get out of the streets.
What music have you recorded and released to date?
CDG is the only song I have recorded so far, on 13 September.
Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment – and do they influence your work?
Lil Mabu is currently my favourite musician and his new song At What Cost is my favourite. It reminds me of my life at home.
Who would your dream collaboration be with?
This would be with Lil Mabu – it would be another milestone completed.
What are your plans for the future?
My future plans are to take my music to the next level and help people.
