With capes fluttering and heroic poses embraced, Avery Healthcare celebrated their real-life superheroes as care home staff dressed up for National Superhero Day.

National Superhero Day swept through Avery care homes nationwide, marking the launch of one of the UK’s leading adult care provider’s new vision and values, while also giving thanks to Avery staff members.

Throughout the day, homes across Avery, Avery Collection and The Hawthorns, which are all part of the Avery Healthcare Group, exhibited remarkable dedication and creativity through themed decorations, with staff cosplaying as superheroes to celebrate compassion, teamwork, and excellence.

Staff and residents participated in various party activities, including crafting emblems and playing energising games, all carefully chosen to promote bonding and laughter, before grabbing a delicious slice of colourful cake.

Sadie Deveraux, Director of Marketing and Communications for Avery Healthcare, stated, “National Superhero Day is a day to acknowledge and honour our real-life superheroes across Avery. It’s amazing to see the Avery #OneFamily embedding our new vision and values into their homes and celebrating these with our residents.

“The day stood as a testament to the unwavering commitment of our teams, who went above and beyond to ensure that every resident enjoyed the day and their colleagues felt valued.

“Not only did it serve as a thrilling launchpad for our new vision and values, but it also reaffirmed the sense of belonging and solidarity that defines the Avery Group.”

Acknowledging the exceptional endeavours exerted by teams across Avery, five winners for the bestthemed party were selected to receive a £100 Just Eat voucher for staff. The winners were Elton House Care Home in Watford, Guildford House Care Home in Guildford, Eastbourne Gardens Care Home in Eastbourne, Avalon Court Care Home in Coventry, and Grove Park Care Home in Leeds.

Sadie continued, “A huge congratulations to all our winning care homes, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made National Superhero Day an overwhelming success.
