Artist Feature: Wajudah

You may have heard us playing DJ by Wajudah regularly on Phoenix FM over the past couple of weeks – but who is Wajudah? We caught up with him to find out more about his life and music.

Tell us a little bit about your yourself?

I am a reggae dancehall performing artist; however I am quite versatile and can sing other genres of music.

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

I developed a passion for music in 2003 when I left school and took time to understand the art of writing lyrics and the many genres of music.

Which artists did you listen to while growing up?

I listened to Bob Marley, Phil Collins, UB40 and Madness growing up.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

My music is easy to listen too and all of my songs have a catchy chorus that most people say they can’t help but sing along too.

What music have you recorded and released to date?

I have released two albums, one EP 5 videos and many singles.


Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment – and do they influence your work?

I enjoy listening to Adele and Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendez they influence my music as they are all very diverse artists with good purposeful lyrics.

Who would your dream collaboration be with?

Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes would be my dream collaborators.

What are your plans for the future?

I am recording a new EP at the moment and will shoot another music video in the summer before starting work on another album in the autumn.
