You may have heard us playing out “Zu meinem Schutzengel” by MissHearMeClick recently here on Phoenix FM – but who is she? We caught up with her to find out more about her life and her music.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

My artist name is MissHearMeClick but my real name is Feona Samson.  I am a Software Engineer as a professional but I have loved music ever since I was a child.  I am from the Philippines but currently living and working here in Germany.  I have a 5 month old daughter who likes to listen to me singing and playing the guitar.  Because of that, I was able to compose the latest song “Zu Meinem Schutzengel” (to my Guardian Angel) taken from the inspiration from my daughter.  Making music is my hobby aside from singing and playing the guitar.

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

As far as I can remember, I liked to sing nursery rhymes when I started to go to school.  Maybe around 3yrs old.  I can remember how happy I was when I was able to sing the whole song of “‘A’ You’re Adorable”.  I also joined music groups like Rondalla and Choir during my elementary years.

Which artists did you listen to while growing up?

When I was small, I preferred songs from Disney Music, so any artist who sang the famous Disney songs where I listened to.  Growing up, introduced me to boy bands like Backstreet Boys, N’Sync, Female singers like Britney Spears and Celine Dion, Bands like Linkin Park and The Calling, to name a few.  Later, friends introduced me to bands like Flyleaf, Guano Apes and such in which their music is more like preferred music for gigs.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

My music is kinda like a mixture of Pop Rock and musical/theater like atmosphere. I imagine it being played along with an orchestra where the delivery of the lyrics is more like talking to or telling a story with a fast melody.  I managed to include string instruments in the background with the latest song.

What music have you recorded and released to date?

I have some music available now on my catalog and you can find it on any music streaming platform.  Unfortunately, mixing is a bit challenging for me as I am newbie on it, so please bear with me on the quality 😅. Just to name a few, Bond that Clicks that showcase dangling sounds of the guitars, and Wo Bist Du where I started to practice mixing.

What are your plans for the future?

Making music is my passion, so I will still keep on writing and making music and share it with the world whenever I can.  Also, I will keep on continuing to improve the mixing technique in every new song I will be working on.

Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment – and do they influence your work?

SCANDAL! – a Japanese band where each of the members are extremely talented.  And yeah, they influence my latest work on how I will place each instrument in my mix but of course there are still more work to do on my side to reach the quality they have 😀

Who would your dream collaboration be with?

At the moment, I would say, SCANDAL! – a Japanese band.
