You may have heard us playing out A Beautiful Ride, the new single from Dr Ihator Brown – and we caught up with him to find out more about his life and love of music.

Tell us a little bit about your yourself?

I live in London, UK, but was born in Clarendon, Jamaica. I specialise in accountability, financial sustainability, and stakeholder perception toward youth charities.

I have a solid background in non-profit leadership, business development, and client success. Throughout my journey, I have consistently committed to philanthropy and fundraising, motivating volunteers, building solid partnerships, and coordinating fundraising events that positively impact children and young people locally, nationally, and internationally.

I also enjoy cooking and has published several cookbooks and many accountability-related books on Amazon.

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

Toward the end of my PhD studies in 2023, I decided to write a song that tells my story with the goal of motivating and inspiring others who are facing difficulties and challenges that there is hope.

Which artists did you listen to while growing up?

Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley, Lionel Richie, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, Bee Gees.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

The song is an inspirational song that nudges the listener toward their goal and makes them feels like the writer is pursuing the same mission with them.

What music have you recorded and released to date?

This is my only song (Owner/Songwriter/Artist) as Dr Ihator Brown. The singer performing my song is Miss Elizabeth Lapthorne.

Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment – and do they influence your work?

My journey influences this song in life. I have faced a lot of hardship but have endured the challenges in a country far away from my family for the past 23 years. However, I have made great achievements in obtaining my Doctorate in the charity sector. Despite the struggle, it has been “A Beautiful Ride.”

What are your plans for the future?

My plan for the future is to write more inspirational content that will help other people.

Where can we find out more about you?

I am on all good streaming services including Spotify.

I am on YouTube and you can find my books on Amazon here.
