We’ve been playlisting Raw Flesh Is Hard To Digest, the current track from Avalanche The Architect here on Phoenix FM recently – but who is he? We caught up with him to find out more about his life and his music.

Tell us a little bit about your yourself?

I’m a battle rapper from the Bronx, New York who moved to Toronto at 14.   My influences are 90s boom bap hip hop.  I focus on quality over quantity when it comes to my music; I am more focused on metaphors and similes and intricate word play over melodies and gimmicky pop music sounds. All in all I am a purest when it comes to rap music and I stay true to what brought me my success.

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

At 8 years old I realized rap music was my passion and calling.  I have  been stringing together rhyming words ever since I can remember and I was a stand out star in my music and poetry class.

Which artists did you listen to while growing up?

I have a wide taste in music, listening to artists such as Redman, Das EFX, K Solo, EPMD, U MC’s, Cutty Ranks, Super Cat and Terrence Trent D’Arby to name a few.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

High energy fight music! My style is a high octane shot of adrenaline. While this is highly energetic in nature it is still thought-provoking and creates a vivid picture in the mind of the listener.

What music have you recorded and released to date?

I have over 100 songs released to date – numerous albums and countless singles. The most recent release is my headbanging single “Make Em Moshpit” which is a mix of hip hop and heavy metal, and the most recent album release is “Let There Be War” which is one of my best projects to date with the lead single “Raw Flesh Is Hard To Digest” taking the world by storm with its gritty sound and in your face punchlines and word play.

Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment – and do they influence your work?

Currently the only rapper I listen to is myself! All the other rappers out right now are cookie cutter versions of each other. There is no originality. Everyone is more focused on making a pop hit rather than a classic masterpiece

Who would your dream collaboration be with?

Another version of me.

What are your plans for the future?

World domination!
