You may have heard us playing Crazy by Cameron Sean on Phoenix FM recently – but who is Cameron? We caught up with him to find out more.

Tell us a little bit about your yourself?

I’m Cameron Sean, born and raised in Westchester, NY, and I’ve always been fascinated with Hip-Hop culture. I’ve made significant strides this past year, and I’m grateful to be on this journey with my managers, fans, and family.

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

I started taking music seriously after I injured my back in middle school. After that injury, I spent a lot of time just writing for fun, and eventually, it grew into more than just a hobby.

Which artists did you listen to while growing up?

I’ve listened to many artists growing up—artist such as Drake, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Slaughterhouse, Jadakiss, and Fabolous. What I love about Hip-hop is that all of the artists I mentioned have an incredibly unique sound, and they all have a certain niche within the rap game.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

I would describe my music as genuine, thoughtful, and authentic. At the end of the day my music is an extension of me as a person and I always want to make music that leaves an impact on the listener.

What music have you recorded and released to date?

At the moment I have 12 songs officially released on all streaming platforms, 7 of those songs are off of my EP “No Favors”. I have a lot of music in the chamber and I’m currently working on my next project.

Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment – and do they influence your work?

At the moment im influenced by a lot of new school sounds. Artist like A Boogie, Stunna Gambino, NF, Symba, Caskey and Doobie to name a few. I will always be listening to Drake but, it’s important to be aware of the current sounds in Hip-Hop.

Who would your dream collaboration be with?

My dream collaboration would be with Drake. I’ve always gravitated to him most because I feel like our upbringing and styles are similar. Drake and I are both mixed, both rap and sing, and both are not from the streets.

What are your plans for the future?

My plan for the future is to release the project I’m working on and to sign to a major record label.
