We’ve been playing out tracks from Blue Celestial on Phoenix FM recently – and we caught up with her to find out a little bit more about herself and her music.

Tell us a little bit about your yourself?

I’m a 29 year old Vietnamese rapper born in Derby.

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

I’ve been since the age of 13, and at the same time I would use to listen to my brother listening to all types of music especially old school R’nb/hip hop songs such as Usher, Az Yet, Sisqo, Tupac and Michael Jackson. I had always looked up to Ciara, Missy Elliot as female artist and Dax in this era.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

Everyone would say I would sound like a male rather then a female, I loved poetry and writing lyrics. I like to use big meaningful words that fits the theme, structure and rhythm and melody it all favors together. I want to portray stories within music and give it a bigger vision not just myself but for others who may not able to express. I thank that one man who use to sit with me everyday and heard my voice, and given me the courage and support. And everyday no fail I would dedicate to write from dusk to dawn…

What music have you recorded and released to date?

My first single released 4 weeks ago “For the lost” Is something that I want to give back to those who are forgotten, and what of the next generation, hoping there is a brighter future out there for all. It’s an emotional/mild aggression type track produced by Tunna Beatz

Miao Shen X Trev is about Godess of mercy, check out her story and her legend. – Have mercy for those who in need healing. Prod. by Tanz

My most recent Official music trailer has just launched on Youtube channel, “Made It” Cherlome (cheers) to you all.

Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment – and do they influence your work?

Yes there are so many various out there now that I have come across their page, some may not even be remembered as they are not signed. New artists I am more fond with because music only gets better and the best thing about music is it is endless and it never sleeps.

Who would your dream collaboration be with?

Dax the rapper, Zones, Chinese artist such as Lexie Liu with “Manta” that is the most best song I have heard from China, Changsha. She nailed that song the way she structured it, it covered 1st and 3rd person and to use creativity combo as if she IS a Manta. And it is true what she put out there, many females would be conscious how they look especially going into a restaurant, a very powerful message. And I would say she is someone I would dream to collaborate with.

What are your plans for the future?

My plans for the future is to release a few more solos and collabs before my first album release, “Deshina”.

Where can we find out more about you?

I’m on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ArmaniLa29/ and Instagram at @bluecelestial92.

I’m on all streaming services including Spotify and you can also find my YouTube channel here too.
