Experts believe that the Japanese diet is the secret behind their longevity. So what is it that they eat?
For a healthy heart eat plenty of fish which is filled with omega-3. It’s also good for the brain, eyes and they reduce inflammation. Fish are rich in selenium which is vital for our antioxidant defences. We eat far less fish in the UK than our Japanese counterparts, so it’s about time we included a bit more in our diet.
Fermented soya foods like miso, tempeh and umami paste are considered to be helpful to women after the menopause, and they can help to maintain bone mineral density reducing the risk of osteoporosis and fractures.
Seaweed is rich in minerals including iodine, zinc, selenium and potassium which are all good for your health.
Now look at your hands, what do they say about you? If your index finger is longer than your ring finger then you are likely to be bad at sports but better at verbal memory tasks. Shorter index fingers mean people are less anxious and better at mentally demanding tasks.
Straighten your fingers and look at the palm of your hand. At the base of your index and ring fingers there are creases. Your index finger is likely to have one crease and the ring finger has a band of creases. Measure from the crease closest to the palm to the tip of the finger.
Scientists have long known that if the ring finger is shorter than the index finger it’s as a result of low testosterone in the womb.
So maybe there is something to palmistry after all!!
