Brentwood Mind to Move?

It’s been reported that Brentwood Mind may soon have to move from it’s premises in Ongar Road Brentwood.

They currently lease premises from Brentwood Borough Council but since a change in 2014/15 they are no longer funded centrally by the NHS leaving them unable to afford the rent.

Brentwood Mind have up to 20 volunteers who provide regular support, and staff of four plus a volunteer board of three directorswho may now be moved to the Town Hall.

The issue will be discussed next week at a full Council meeting.

Brentwood Mind continue to provide a valuable and effective service to the community, I personally hope they are able to continue to give this service.

My understanding is that they get NO funding from the central Mind Charity. If you would like to help, a donation to Brentwood Mind rather than Mind centrally may be the best way to acheive this.
