Phoenix FM’s 5th birthday was sponsored by the wonderful people at BRENTWOOD BREWING COMPANY – try their new home delivery service, support a local business and drink beer all at the same time!
We ran a special show from 6pm-10pm to celebrate FIVE YEARS of non-stop FM broadcasting!
First we had a rather surreal visit from snooker players Judd Trump, Jack Lisowski and Greg Davis. Jack and Judd stepped up to the microphone to talk about what they’re up to between now and the end of the snooker season.
Next up was local singer-songwriter Lee Bowers who played three songs for us.
Stevenage band All Against Nothing came in next, had a chat on air and knocked out three songs acoustically which you can hear again.
The final band of the evening were Essex ukulele outfit D’Ukes who finished up with four songs and talked about the band’s current performances.
And of course alongside all this, we had an entertaining local-beer-fuelled four hours on air.
You can see photos from this on our Facebook gallery page here.
Thanks to all of the performers, all of the Phoenix presenters who joined in the fun and to the Brentwood Brewing Company who provided that vital element to the character of the show – boxes of Brentwood Gold and Brentwood Essex lager. See you at the 6th birthday …
