Phoenix FM presenters on the Virtual Fun Walk

Phoenix FM has taken part in the Billericay Fun Walk for the last few years – but we couldn’t get a team together for this year’s event in the normal way, as it’s a Virtual Fun Walk this year thanks to Covid-19. That does mean that we can get everyone to go out and do their walk at their leisure …

Steve Roach walked 12 km around Hutton, Shenfield and Brentwood.

Xanthe Bearman took a few friends for a 7.2 km birthday walk through Epping Forest.

Andy Gardener walked 5 1/2 miles from Stock to Essex Cricket’s home ground in Chelmsford.

Stewart Pink walked 4 1/2 miles from Thorpe Bay yacht club along the sea wall, but couldn’t get into Foulness Island! (You can usually get onto the island from time to time but sadly the island is closed this year due to Covid-19)

Mike Porter completed a 9.5km walk around Chigwell.

Steve Robertson and Beau broke out of Essex and had a walk around Bury St Edmunds, visiting the statue of St Edmund and the cathedral.

Gareth Williams walked 3 miles around Harold Hill on a windy Sunday after his Phoenix FM Sunday Breakfast Show. It wasn’t shorts weather!

Nadia Harding – and her golden retriever puppy, Nova – walked 3 km around Weald Country Park in Brentwood.

Paul Golder completed 4.5 miles of the Flitch Way from Felsted.

Alan Johnson walked a total of 6.22 km along the River Chelmer between Chelmsford and Sandford Mill.
