Friday Night Extra 2.10.15 with guest Sue Bell from Kids Inspire

SueAfter another glorious sunny day I was joined in the studio by founder of Kids Inspire Sue Bell. She told us how she had been working as a teacher when it became clear to her that children who were victims of distress, abuse or neglect and were manifesting difficult behaviours, needed positive interventions. She undertook counselling training and then For two years worked unpaid to prove how these children could be helped. Eight years later she runs an organisation with over forty paid or voluntary staff and working across most of Essex. She gave us examples of how the work had helped rebuild lives for both traumatised children and their parents. There are many ways that the work can be supported, through professional involvement with children to the very important fundraising needed to support the work. More information is available on www.kidsinspire.org.uk https://m.facebook.com/kidsinspire.org.uk

We also heard tonight how former Westlife singer Shane Filan said how important his faith had been in getting through his bankruptcy and rebuilding his career. Justin Bieber had also been talking about faith and saying, “I just honestly want to live like Jesus…he created a pretty awesome template on how to love people and how to be gracious and kind…if you believe it, he died for our sins.”

In other news, we learnt that taking selfies has led to more deaths this year, 12, than shark attacks, 8.
