Paul Beasley-Murray sponsored walk for Essex Dementia care

Patrick Sherring

Paul Beasley-Murray is undertaking a seven mile sponsored walk for Essex Dementia Care, this year’s charity for the Chelmsford Rivermead Rotary  Club. His motivation is having a close friend of many years who suffers from dementia. Along with his wife, he visits this friend regularly. She is now in a home. Paul spoke passionately about how important it is to keep visiting family or friends who suffer from dementia, however painful it is to visit. Paul talks regularly with her, recalling time past. Essex Dementia Care is a local charity founded in 2006 and brings activity based care to suit each individual. This can be a One2One service with a dedicated ‘Memory Companion’, or through joining a group. At the moment there are four groups in Chelmsford and one in Braintree. More information can be found at https://www.essexdementiacare.org.uk
