Daren ready to hit audiences for six with weekly live cricket show

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

Phoenix FM is welcoming the return of 98 Not Out to the airwaves, just in time for the cricket World Cup!

Host Daren Mootoo is back presenting his live show every week on Thursday evenings from 6pm.

Just because it’s the end of the summer, it doesn’t mean there’s a lack of cricket news, with the World Cup and England’s tours of the West Indies and India to look forward to this winter and spring.

Daren, who is also a former chairman of Billericay Cricket Club, has had some amazing guests since the show started in June 2019, including Mike Gatting, David Gower, Jason Holder, Anthony McGrath and Jonty Rhodes.

His show has also tackled some hard-hitting issues too including interviews with those who have suffered racial abuse in the cricketing system.

Since the show’s live return Daren has already had some amazing guests including legendary broadcaster Henry Blofeld who came on the show to talk about International James Bond Day, although I’m not sure if we find out whether we find out if Henry is related to Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

You can hear 98 Not Out every Thursday on 98FM, and catch up with the podcasts at phoenixfm.com.
