Dulwich avenged their 3-0 home defeat at the weekend by coming away with all three points in this crucial clash at the New Lodge.
A massive crowd of 1,302 – the highest at Billericay for 12 years – weren’t able to watch the Blues climb into the playoff places for the first time this season.
Billericay enjoyed some early chances with O’Hara firing over and Ellul’s header going wide.
However it was Dulwich who took the lead with Ibra Sekajja’s header after 21 minutes.
The Blues continued to press with Bricknell having a goal disallowed for a foul on the goalkeeper, and Swaine going close with a header.
Dulwich doubled their lead on 33 minutes from an Ashley Carew free kick which took a deflection before going in.
Both teams had chances in the second half, with Ellul having another good chance and Swaine hitting the bar for Billericay, but they were unable to claw their way back into the game.
Dulwich now climb into the final playoff slot with two games in hand on most of their rivals, with Billericay four points adrift.
With five games to go, including matches against promotion rivals Leiston and Enfield, the Blues’ promotion push is far from over.
