Continuing the remembrance theme from last week, I was joined in the studio tonight by Mark Morris. For six years Mark served in the Royal Navy in submarines and this included being involved in the Falklands conflict. He told us about his training and also a number of incidents. He was on a nuclear submarine in Russian waters and everyone was watching Grease and started singing Grease Lightening and were told by the captain to be quiet as they were loud enough for the Russians to hear. He also talked of sailing around Port Stanley harbour and seeing the burnt out wrecks of ships. In the second hour I was joined on the phone by David who was in the Falkland Islands for the time of the 25th anniversary. He told us about flying over the wrecks with families of those lost as the wrecks are now designated as war graves. We had lots of music tonight from 1982, the time of the conflict.
