What a packed show tonight!I was joined by Mark Sawyer from the Chelmsford Salvation Army and friend of the show Stuart Hull on a weekend break from training for the ministry in Oxford. Mark talked about all the amazing activities that are undertaken. It sounds a really busy ministry, with work with the homeless, a foodbank and numerous groups of activities, as well as the band. He talked about trialing for West Ham when he was younger. He has also had a varied ministry, running youth work in many parts of the country. He told us about the book he is writing about Eagles and all that is happening in Chelmsford with the group over the Christmas period. Music in the first our included Adel, 10 CC, Norah Jones, Madness, Moody Blues, Kenny G and others. In the second hour we played tracks by Pink Floyd, Justin Timberlake, Coldplay, Beach Boys, Booker T Jones, Lady Antebellum, Johny Cash and Abba. I also chatted with Stuart Hull. he has been having a great time in Oxford, including visiting the grave of Tolkien, having an all night session watching Lord of the Rings films and taking up boxing. Oh, and he has been writing essays as well. The chat room was brilliant tonight with many people and a wide range of topics. Lee and Rene were in top form and we were joined by a group of people from Oxford. There was much speculation as to who the four people were who we knew were watching up were not signed in. Suggestions included Barack Obama, the new Archbishop of Canterbury, Martin Luther, Plato and others! It all got very silly and was great! Join me next week when sanity will return! I will be joined by Barbara Hallows who will be talking about a club that was formed by nurses in WW2 and is still operating.
