Friday Night Extra 7.12.18 with Marina Bottelli-Price

It was great to welcome back Marina, not singing this time but talking about her new book, ‘My light in the darkness’. She told us that she wanted anyone who reads the book to have a real sense of hope. She felt that this was a book she had been waiting to write for forty two years. Born into an Italian family that had moved to London, she spoke candidly about some of the dark times in her early life. At aged fifteen she was taken back to Italy for seven months, where instead of attending school she worked the family business. Returning to London and moving to the east end, problems continued. All this lead to rebellion and she turned to drink, drugs and leaving home. Faith became real to her when she was nineteen. This did not lead to an end to all the difficulties, but the depth of her faith and the knowledge of God’s love for her has given her so much hope. Now involved with www.thehealingbus.org she and her husband Nick are seeking to help others through the power of prayer. Having read this blog and/listened to the recording, if you want to know more, you can phone the prayer line on 0125264165. On the website you can buy the book. You can also buy her album of self-penned songs, ‘A very high wall’. There is also much more information about The Healing Bus. We had a number of people contact the show or Marina directly to say they were listening and found our conversation  very interesting and encouraging. This included from a church youth group listening live.

Music tonight included a look at the chart for this week in 1994.
