Stalwart Nick yet to miss weekly show after years of presenting

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

Our Wednesday evening presenter Nick Field is one of our longest serving, having joined us in 2006 and been part of our full-time FM launch week line up in 2007. I don’t think he’s missed a weekly show since!

Nick has always been a fervent supporter of the local music scene and last week welcomed Bruce and Tranunki Thompson from 035 Promotions, who have just put on their second major gig at Chinnery’s in Southend.

The duo already have two further gigs in Essex and London confirmed for March and June, with more dates to be announced soon.

Nick also chatted to all four bands playing on the night – ever-reliable Southend rockers HOBO, Opensight whose metal sound boosts a distinct cinematic influence, the theatrical heavyweights Donkerkarnuffel, and finally the headline act Concrete Age, whose brand of ‘ethnic’ metal features a wide variety of musical styles and influences rarely heard in the genre.

You can hear the interviews again at phoenixfm.com.
