Nicky tells of worthwhile cause close to home

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

Last week our morning presenter Michelle Ward told listeners of an incredibly worthwhile cause very close to home.

The Rhys Daniels Trust is a UK registered charity based in Essex which provides free “Home from Home” accommodation at specialist children’s hospitals across the UK, which allows families to stay close to their child receiving treatment for serious or life-threatening illnesses.

The charity is named after Rhys who, along with his brother Charly, sadly passed away with Late Infantile Batten’s Disease in 1994.

The Trust is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and will be hosting many fundraising events. Trust Manager Nicky Brody chatting with Michelle on air to talk about the work they do and how they can help children and families.

You can find out more at rhysdanielstrust.org and you can also hear the interview with Michelle again at www.phoenixfm.com.
