Art gallery owner John talks about new project for the town

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

Amongst all the Christmas music and special “best of” shows, we’re still cramming in as much community news and information as we can.

Last week we had a visit from art dealer and expert John Brandler, who came in for a chat live on air on Michelle Ward’s Eat My Brunch morning show.

John is a long-standing friend of the station, having been a regular guest even before the station went full time in 2007.

He’s had an even longer association with our community too, having just celebrated the 40th anniversary of the opening of his gallery, Brandler Galleries, in Coptfold Road.

Appropriately for the season of goodwill, John came in to talk about his new project which is hoping to help charities and community organisations in our town.

He also spoke about how he developed an interest in art and some stories from his long career.

John is also an expert in street and urban art and has legally removed and restored works from Banksy from all over the UK.

You can hear his interview again, and more details of how he is planning to help the community, at www.phoenixfm.com.
