Leader Chris tells us about latest initiatives from borough council

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

At Phoenix FM we’re always busy trying to develop as many interesting radio shows as possible, with every music genre you can think of and lots of spoken word content too.

But our original mission was to promote what’s happening in our community and it’s something we’re going to continue to feature heavily in 2022.

Luckily the current leader of Brentwood Borough Council, Cllr Chris Hossack, is a regular visitor to our studios and is always around to let our listeners know what the council are planning for the coming year.

Chris featured on Michelle Ward’s mid-morning show last week to talk about a whole load of current and new local initiatives, including tree planting schemes, business grants to help businesses affected by Covid, and the current discount scheme for shopping locally.

Chris is a big supporter of Phoenix FM – he not only helped us locate and move into our current studio at the Brentwood Centre, but he came down and helped us paint it before we moved in!

You can hear the interview again at phoenixfm.com – and we’ll be featuring Chris on a regular basis throughout the year to keep our listeners in the loop about everything local.
