We’ve been playlisting Shewolf, the new track from Seventh Crusade Baptisma here on Phoenix FM and we chatted to the musician behind the project to find out more about them.
Tell us a little bit about your yourself?
My name is Paul, I am 27, an artist from Las Vegas and in the last three months I have officially written my first album!
When did you first start to develop a passion for music?
I have always had a passion for listening to music, and I have always wanted to create music, but it was only last year that I took this dream seriously and the necessary steps to achieve it.
Which artists did you listen to while growing up?
I listened to a lot of alternative rock growing up, bands like Linkin Park, Sum 41, System Of A Down, Slipknot, Korn, Soulfly and Mudvayne among others.
How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?
Our music definitely crosses a few genre boundaries. We try to mix pop elements like singing and catchy hooks with heavy screaming and distorted guitars. I call it Pop Metal.
What music have you recorded and released to date?
We have been releasing weekly singles on our website www.seventhcrusadebaptisma.com, but next month we will be releasing our entire 13-track album.
Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment – and do they influence your work?
My favourite artist is Chimaira and they definitely influence how I play. For non-metal it would have to be Muse.
Who would your dream collaboration be with?
This would have to be with Rob Arnold.
What are your plans for the future?
We want to take a shot at performing and recording cover songs!
Where can people find out more about you?
Our website at www.seventhcrusadebaptisma.com is the best place to start, and you can also find us on Facebook, YouTube and all streaming platforms.
