In this episode of Blank Generation I interview Tony Page, author and self publisher of Anoraky In The UK.
Described as a light hearted and sometimes cynical review of obscure New Wave 7″ single records from 1977-81, and the bands that made them. With full colour pictures of the sleeves, labels and any inserts plus a price guide and tick off list for the anorak in you. There’s also a few brief highlights and musings from the author’s personal memories of the period.
Tony is extremely passionate and knowledgeable of the early UK punk explosion and we discuss and play 30 of the 101 tracks featured in his book in their entirety. Some of the “obscure” tracks like those by The Tights, Fast Cars, Vice Creems and Television Personalities are out and out classics but there are loads that are new to me and for that I thank Tony for the introduction.
See how many you know and remember to like, share and comment on Facebook as even after all these years, these bands deserve to be heard.
