It was Finn-tastic to welcome young Grandmother Corn to the studio

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

We get a lot of musicians from all over the world visit us on Phoenix FM and we managed to tick Finland off the list last week with a visit from Helsinki band Grandmother Corn.

The band consists of Teo on vocals and guitar, Pan on harmonica, Max on guitar, Rasmus on bass and Henri on drums.

They visited Michelle Ward as part of their UK tour to promote their new album Don’t Look Back, which will be coming out out in November. It’s their fourth album – they’ve been continually writing since starting the band in 2015.

They were very impressive in the studio and have loads of energy on stage – you can tell this bad absolutely love what they do.

You can hear their interview and session again at phoenixfm.com and find out more about the band itself at www.grandmothercorn.com.

* Lots of great guests coming in to the studio in the next seven days.

* Julie Gowers from Brentwood Art Society will be talking to Michelle Ward about the group’s annual exhibition on Eat My Brunch, and Margaret Mills will be talking about The Secret Barrister in her monthly book review with Scott Ross on One 2 Three.

* There will also be live music from Tommy Vegas, Laura Jane Butler and Jeff Holliman.
