Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette
We’re always looking to help local businesses save money and save the environment too – why wouldn’t you want to do both?
For the last couple of years we have been promoting the virtues of LoCASE – Low Carbon Across the South East. It’s an EU-funded project which helps businesses tackle and adapt to climate change, organised by a number of local councils including Essex County Council and Thurrock Council.
A number of Brentwood-based businesses have successfully benefitted from grants which have been spent on reducing their overheads and carbon emissions. Not all businesses are eligible, but if you are it seems like a no-brainer to me.
Gary Crooks and Kate Peters came in to talk about how the scheme has run over the last three years and plans to extend it in the future.
You can hear their interview on our website at www.phoenixfm.com and also find out more from LoCASE at their website – locase.co.uk.
