Nick Field has recently celebrated 600 weekly editions of his popular “Curveballs” music show and it’s still going strong!
Nick regularly hosts local bands and singers on his show and his current edition was no exception, with members of two local bands talking about their music and playing live.
First Nick was joined by Danny and Jared from Southend electro-rockers Parrilla. They’ve just released their debut single Surrounded and are planning more releases and live dates at local venues later this year.
After this four-fifths of Essex indie rockers The Theme came down to play live on air. Originally formed by lead songwriter Paul BAssom in 2011, they’ve had a prolific year of gigging so far, and are releasing Distance, a follow-up to their recent single Hold Me, later this month.
Both interviews and all the live music can be heard on the Phoenix FM website at phoenixfm.com and you can also search for “Curveballs on Phoenix FM” on Spotify and iTunes where the show is podcasted each week.
Nick has probably had more guests in playing live than anyone else and he also has a very busy YouTube channel with dozens of live performance able to watch again.
* More great guests coming up in the next seven days, including Trevor Bond and Mike Sinclair from the Rotary Club of Billericay who will be talking about this year’s Soapbox Derby with Bob Simpson on One 2 Three.
* Young songwriters from Southend’s SoSlam will be chatting on 50 Shades Of Chay and local folk duo When Rivers Meet will be playing live on The Sunday Sessions.
* We’ve also got members of the Billericay Bowling Club coming in to talk.
