From songs and stories to dance and drama, the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch is excited to present a variety of children’s entertainment this Summer Holiday.
For youngsters aged 7 – 11, there’s a fun-filled week of drama, games and acting on offer with the chance to create a play, with Play in a Week. The course, which runs from 31 July – 4 August, finishes with an exciting play presented to family and friends. Workshops run daily from 9.30am – 1.30pm and places are £65.
Children aged 9 – 16 who love musicals will have the fantastic opportunity to work with a director and a musical director with Musical in a Week. From 14 – 18 August, participants will learn performance skills such as acting, singing and dancing and will produce a condensed version of a well-known musical to family and friends. Workshops run daily from 10am – 4pm and places are £100.
For those that love getting creative there’s a range of jam-packed Create & Play Mornings from Monday 21 August – Friday 25 August. From Puppet Pirates to Alien Adventures and Daring Dragons, little ones aged 4 – 6 will be able to use their imagination and enjoy two hours of creative fun involving drama games, storytelling and craft activities. Workshops run from 10am – 12 noon and cost £10. Parents can book three sessions for the price of two and receive 10% off in the theatre’s Café whilst the kids play.
Taking over the theatre’s main stage this summer is everyone’s favourite furry monster The Gruffalo, which runs from Wednesday 9 August – Saturday 12 August. Tickets are £12.50.
Lovers of Little Mix will be able to sing and dance along to all of the X-Factor stars’ pop hits with the high-energy The Little Mix Experience on Wednesday 16 August at 2pm. Tickets are £14 and suitable for all ages.
Under 5s and their favourite teddy bear are invited to The Teddy Bears’ Picnic on Tuesday 15 August where they’ll be able to meet the biggest teddy bear in the whole world! This enchanting interactive show includes a mixture of games with plenty of prizes, storytelling and sing-along songs. The show starts at 1pm and tickets are £10 or £35 for families of 4.
