Friday Night Extra 19.8.16 Summer breeze.

Tonight Jonty was back from holiday. The playlist was changed as I played a track by Joe Stilgoe, a surprising version of The Doors, People are strange. Jonty had never heard of The Doors. So we had Hello, I love you by The Doors. We also had a track from 2013 by Petual Clark. Jonty had never heard of her, so we had Downtown. We had a number of requests tonight that meant we were even wider in genre than usual, if that is possible! We heard that today is International Orang-utan Day, to draw attention to the plight of Orang-utans in the wild. Massimo Bottura runs the renowned Osteria Francesca restaurant in Modena, Italy. He decided there was a problem with wasted food at the Olympics. So he has set up a restaurant to use left over food to make meals for homeless people. This restaurant will continue in Rio when the Olympics end. What a great story.

Tonight’s playlist.
Miles Davis – Summertime
Seals and Croft – Summer breeze
