Good to see Nikki tonight as we appear to have missed each other in recent weeks. Tonight’s music selection was very much on the chilled side. With the rushing and doing associated with this time of year, it was good to just relax and enjoy the music. Many e-mails tonight and lots of people being in touch with requests and comments. We discovered that Gaudete, requested by Phyl and a number 14 in 1973 was a 16th century Latin Christmas carol. During the week Ringo Starr had auctioned off 1,300 items for a total of £6.1 million. The highest amount was for his drum kit used on most of the Beatles tracks, which was £1.4 million. In Leamington Spar the local business organisation are paying for four angels (women dressed as angels) to patrol the streets, direct motorists to free spaces and warn of on-coming traffic wardens. What a great idea! An Oxford University professor has been testing which music enhances the flavour of different foods. Apparently Chinese food tastes better to Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift, whilst the rock of Queen and Bruce Springsteen brings out the flavour in Indian food. Suchi tastes best when listening to jazz. He is convinced his research will lead to free CDs with your takeaway order. Shall we wait and see?
