The Scrutiny debate without the Scrutineer

In what promised to be a heated debate following the previous week’s Council Full Meeting Ousted Chair Karen Chilvers (Lib Dem) Phil Baker (BWF) were invited to join Mike for One to Three.

New Chair of Scrutiny Noelle Hones had been invited and accepted to join the debate but two hours before the broadcast we received this statement

Andrew Hadfield, Communications Manager at Brentwood Borough Council

“This issue has been debated enough over the last 2-3 weeks and has been decided at Ordinary Council. The Council is now focusing on keeping council tax low, cleaning the streets (particularly after Monday’s storms) and increasing recycling.”

Disappointing but that is their prerogative. You can hear the whole of the debate again here
