Revd. Gill Frith, about to retire as Vicar in Doddinghurst, joined me in the studio tonight. We had a fascinating conversation. Gill told us about her seven years as the Vicar. Clearly a highlight has been being in a Churches Together group presenting a dramatised Bible story every Monday in assembly in the local primary school. We also talked about the meditation group she has been running. This moved us to consider how everyone needs times of quiet in their lives. She also told us about her young life in Liverpool which included going to the Cavern to hear the Beatles before they were famous. In the chatroom they asked if she had got the autographs of the Beatles but sadly the answer was no. Gill also told us about her hobbies and how she plans to use these in her retirement. Casually she said that she like making things out of wood and then said she had made a working harpsicord! She also said how she hopes to continue to be involved in schools and to take time to read. It sounds like a very productive retirement. We had many positive comments about the interview.
