My guests this evening were Jane Leech and Julia Rose from St. Giles Church, Mountnessing . They told us about the flower festival and craft event that is happening every day at the church over the Bank Holiday weekend. They told us that the event that happens every two years has been running since the 1970s. They also brought in three interesting tracks for us to listen to, from Cat Stephens, John Grant and the Flower duet by Delibres. We also had our ususal wide range of tracks, including a request from Sue driving to Nashville, Ed in Lincoln, Phyl in Enfield and Patrick, Derek and Michael in Ingatestone. Our odd news stories included Brent council having a hollogram as a receptionist at the town hall. This led to chatroom discussions as to who should be used in such hollograms. Ben Aflick and Jannifer Aniston appeared to be the favourites, with President Obama a close second. We also heard about Beyonce’s £1440 phone order for fast food after her V set at Chelmsford, a cat that steals everything from other people in the street and Australian politicians starring in a rock video. In the chat room the Australians did not surprise them, considering the national drink!
