The Conservatives held firm in Brentwood’s local council elections last night, retaining all seats defended. New Phoenix FM presenter Chris Hossack retained his seat in Hutton East and former presenter Russell Quirk was re-elected to the council after winning Hutton North.
The Liberal Democrats didn’t suffer as badly as national polls suggested, although they did lose one seat, Brentwood West, to the Conservatives by just 10 votes.
Labour’s Mike Le-Surf held onto Brentwood South with a greatly increased majority over another former Phoenix FM presenter, David Bishop.
Steve Robertson and Ed Wellman from PHOENIX FM interviewed a number of the candidates on the night and you can hear these again below.
