How not to shoplift!

shoplifter

Today we heard the sad but true story of the would-be shoplifter, who having nicked a laptop from a store in Augusta, Georgia, then ran into a group of marines doing charity work outside the store – stabbing one on his way passed.

Although the marine was taken to hospital, mercifully he was not seriously hurt.

The same cannot be said for his assailant who was also taken to hospital suffering from two broken arms, a broken ankle, a broken leg, several missing teeth, possible broken ribs, multiple contusions, assorted lacerations, a broken nose and a broken jaw.

But here’s the good bit.

The injuries were not the result of his entanglement with the marines, but occurred when he slipped and fell off the kerb!

In the second hour of the programme I was joined, as per usual on a Tuesday, by Margaret Mills, who reported on the life of the Essex based explorer,Captain Oates, best known being being a part of Scott’s expedition to the Antarctic.
