Yogathon in aid of Brentwood Mind this Saturday

150+ People Gather on Shenfield Common Brentwood for Charity Yogathon Saturday 10 June 2017.

Wellbeing Yoga Studio Brentwood is celebrating it’s 4th Birthday by bringing more than 150 people together to do a mass Yogathon on Shenfield Common Saturday June 10 at 3pm. This is to raise much-needed funds for Brentwood MIND, which supports local people with mental health issues. All very timely seeing as it runs just after the nation’s Mental Health Awareness Week.

The Yogis (people who do yoga) are challenging themselves to do 108 (a sacred number) Sun Salutations, which is an ancient and well-known sequence of 12 postures and breaths that improves your mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. But any form of yoga is welcome and people can come and do as much, or as little, as they wish.

“Yoga and meditation are proven to have a big impact on how we feel so it made perfect sense to team up with Brentwood MIND to help local people who are suffering with stress, anxiety, depression, self esteem issues and many other conditions. If people want to join in all we ask is that they have done some yoga and can bring a mat! Our teachers will be on hand to help and friends and families are all welcome to come and support us – it’s an incredible sight,” says Jessica Livingstone, Founder of Wellbeing Yoga Brentwood.

The event will finish with home-made Indian food, massage ladies, stalls and more. All we ask for is a £20 donation to Brentwood MIND to participate.
