A surprise show for me on Phoenix FM today, sitting in at the last minute for Michelle Ward. What a nice surprise it was too with guests Harry and Dante performing live in the studio.

East London based Harry and The Chicks has created her own world, accompanying her ‘poptimistic’ music with her self-designed image and style, which has acquired an internationally selling fanbase of its own. Her stage name, which derives from her birth name ‘Harry’ and plays on the idea that Harry is ‘not a girl’s name’, makes it seem as though Harry and The Chicks is a group project. Harry describes ‘The Chicks’ as anyone who joins her journey in music. Today she joined with Dante for this part of the journey. Harry and the Chicks latest single is Snakes in the Streets which is a great upbeat song with a message. It’s about Harry’s own experience with street harassment and stalking.
