The end of the week is fun on Phoenix FM Drive because it means a bit of live music live at five. Today’s certainly no exception with Arthur Walwin gracing the studio with his presence. On his website www.arthurwalwin.com he posted – Phoenix FM have given me a whole hour on air for some reason.
The reason proved to be a very good one – his blend of pop/rock both as a solo artist and with his band Paige went down a treat with us in the studio and listeners online. The cover of Ellie Goulding’s Starry Eyed was a particular treat.
Arthur also managed to score a respectable 16 out of 20 on the Drive Name That Tune Challenge 2011 (I’ve just made up that title but I quite like it I think I’ll stick with it) – not enough to displace joint leaders Jazz Blaack and Fagan though.
