The Arts Programme – 198 – Sustainable Making From Scratch

This week we were joined in the studio by sustainable superstar Becky from RetrofromScratch. We spoke about important things such as the ‘heirarchy of sustainability’; and also less important things like Gregg Wallace’s daily routines.

Becky told us all about how she got into bookbinding as a business, only to find out years later that the trade is in her blood. She also spoke about giving books a new lease of life and a story of tradition and nostalgia.

We also spoke about some national news and some Essex events. Including one of Becky’s coming up at Merrymeade Tearooms surrounding quilling. There was also a book themed playlist stretching from the Mary Shelley inspired ‘China In My Hand’ to the Ramones ‘Pet Sematary’. As usual, Charlotte also chose a thematic musical number for us too – this week’s was from the Musical named and about the Mount of Monte Christo.

Listen again to The Arts Programme with Natalie and Claire.
