For the last of my run of Dance Anthems shows before Vicki returns next week from panto I took the opportunity to play a few tracks that hit the spot during 2023 – including the sample of Mario Winans’ 2004 song I don’t wanna know by Metro Boomin, with The Weeknd & 21 Savage on vocals; Issey Cross’ re-working of the Verve classic for her Bittersweet goodbye; and the current song by the wonderful Zara Larsson & David Guetta which almost made it as my Presenter Pick of the year. I also gave an airing to the track that I actually chose, together with the most popular choice of other presenters – the year’s biggest selling single by Miley Cyrus.
If the close of 2023 is anything to go by then 2024 looks set to be another good year for dance music!
